Three explosions were heard near Bandar Abbas, Iran, around 1:30 a.m. local time on the 28th, according to Iran's Fars News Agency. Simultaneously, the port's air defense system was activated and opened fire for several minutes. The exact location and cause of the explosions are still unclear. Local authorities are investigating.
