[Analysis: US to Take at Least 3 Years to Replenish Weapons Depleted in the Iran War] A new analysis report released on the 27th by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) indicates that US arms contractors will need at least three years to replenish their stockpiles of three key weapon systems heavily used in the Iran war. According to the Associated Press, the report states that CSIS, after analyzing publicly available information from the US Department of Defense, found that existing stockpiles of Tomahawk cruise missiles, Patriot missiles, and THAAD missile defense systems are sufficient to handle "any reasonable scenario" in the Iran war. However, replenishing the depleted stockpiles will take time, and if the US becomes involved in military conflicts elsewhere during this period, it will face a "fragile window of opportunity." The report says this window could last for several years until US weapons stockpiles return to pre-war levels; reaching a level sufficient to handle new military conflicts will require several more years. The report states, "Expanding production capacity and building these complex weapon systems takes time." (Xinhua)
