[Sweden's Business Climate Index Remains Stable at 103.3 in May, Above Normal Level] ⑴ Sweden's business climate index remained largely unchanged in May, slightly decreasing to 103.3 from 103.5 in April, but still above 100, continuing to indicate stronger-than-normal business sentiment. ⑵ Demand remains weak, with the index declining from -23 to -24, below historical normal levels. Employment trends are broadly stable, with only a slight decrease in the number of employees over the past three months, and hiring expectations slowing somewhat over the next three months, indicating a largely unchanged labor market outlook. ⑶ The construction industry is the only sector expecting future employment growth. Meanwhile, pricing intentions have strengthened significantly, with expected sales prices for the next three months rising sharply from 16 to 23, the highest among all survey indicators, particularly evident in the food trade sector, partly reflecting adjustments following the VAT reduction on food in April.
