[Spain's Retail Sales Growth Slows to 0.8% in April] ⑴ Spanish retail trade grew by 0.8% year-on-year in April, compared to a significant 4.1% increase in the previous month. ⑵ Sales of non-food products slowed sharply (2.6% growth, compared to 6.7% in March), with personal equipment (0.7% growth, compared to 4.5% in March), household appliances (3.3% growth, compared to 7.7% in March), and health products (2.3% growth, compared to 6.1% in March) all showing signs of slowing. ⑶ Food spending also cooled (1.5% growth, compared to 2.7% in March). ⑷ On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, retail trade declined by 1.5% in April, reversing the 1.2% increase in the previous month.
