[Norway's Registered Unemployed Falls to 62,100 in May, a 13-Month Low] ⑴ Norway's seasonally adjusted registered unemployed number fell slightly to 62,100 in May from 62,200 in April, the lowest level since April 2025, representing 2.1% of the total workforce. ⑵ Unemployment rates remained largely stable across most occupational groups, with the tourism and transportation sectors having the highest rate at 2.8%, while academic professions and health, nursing, and caregiving occupations had the lowest rates at 0.8%. ⑶ Regionally, Oslo had the highest unemployment rate at 2.6%, while Tromsø had the lowest at 1.3%. ⑷ Meanwhile, labor demand remained strong, with 49,000 job openings in May, equivalent to 2,300 vacancies per working day, a 33% increase compared to the same period last year and the highest level since April 2022. ⑸ Without seasonal adjustment, the number of fully unemployed fell to 58,300 in May from 62,400 in April.
