[Survey Shows Over 1,000 Food Items to Rise in Japan in June] A recent survey released on the 29th by the Japanese research firm Teikoku Database, targeting 195 major food and beverage manufacturers, revealed that 1,078 food and beverage items will see price increases in Japan in June, while 2,269 items are scheduled for price hikes in July, a significant increase compared to June. Furthermore, from January to October 2026, a total of 9,361 items have been confirmed to raise prices. Analysis shows that rising raw material costs are the most prevalent reason for the price increases, followed by rising packaging material costs and the impact of the Middle East situation.
