[Italy's Unemployment Rate Drops to 5.1% in April, a Record Low] ⑴ Italy's unemployment rate fell slightly to 5.1% in April from 5.2% in March, below market expectations of 5.3%, marking a record low. ⑵ The number of unemployed decreased by 18,000 to 1.31 million, with declines recorded for both men and women, and in all age groups except 35-49. ⑶ The employment rate rose to 63.1% from 62.7% in the previous three months, with the number of employed increasing by 123,000 to 24.34 million. The inactivity rate fell to 33.4% from 33.7%. ⑷ Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, which measures job seekers aged 15-24, fell to a record low of 16.9% from 17.7% in March.
