[New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport to Implement Ebola Screening] The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on May 29 that New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport will implement health screenings for arriving passengers from countries affected by the Ebola outbreak. The CDC stated that related measures also include departure screening, airline disease reporting, and post-arrival public health surveillance. Similar screening programs are already in place at Dulles International Airport in Virginia, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. According to regulations, passengers who have traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, or Uganda within the past 21 days will be directed to designated areas for health inquiries upon arrival in the United States and will undergo further medical evaluation as needed.
