The Baltic Dry Index (BDI) edged lower on Friday, but still recorded its second consecutive monthly gain, boosted by strong demand across all vessels. The BDI fell 2 points, or 0.1%, to 3224 points, but hovered near its highest level since December 2023. The Capesize Index (BCI) fell 14 points, or 0.3%, to 5503 points, having risen approximately 27% this month. Average daily earnings for Capesize vessels decreased by $127 to $46,411. The Panamax Index (BPI) rose 12 points, or 0.5%, to 2343 points, marking its second consecutive monthly increase. Average daily earnings for Panamax vessels rose by $108 to $21,086. The Supramax Bulk Freight Index (BSI) remained unchanged at 1569 points, marking its second consecutive monthly increase. The Handysize Freight Index (BHSI) rose 4 points to 851 points.
