The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that U.S. gasoline demand rose 1% year-on-year in March, increasing by 88,000 barrels per day to 8.853 million barrels per day; this figure had declined 1.1% year-on-year in February. Total U.S. petroleum demand rose 2.2% year-on-year in March, increasing by 433,000 barrels per day to 20.383 million barrels per day; the year-on-year increase in February was 4.5%. U.S. distillate fuel oil demand rose slightly by 0.3% year-on-year in March, increasing by 10,000 barrels per day to 3.904 million barrels per day; this figure rose 5.4% year-on-year in February.
