According to statistics released by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), in the week ending September 15, speculative funds participating in crude oil trading reduced their net long positions in West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil by 531 contracts, ultimately bringing the net long position down to 139,515 contracts. This slight reduction in net long positions reflects, to some extent, a minor adjustment in speculative funds' bullish sentiment regarding the short-term price trend of WTI crude oil.
