The U.S. Secretary of Defense stated that for the first time in nearly 15 years, U.S. Special Forces recruiters met their recruitment targets of 2,940 individuals. Simultaneously, the U.S. Army Reserve also achieved its first breakthrough in nearly a decade, recruiting 14,322 new reservists in September, two weeks ahead of schedule. It is understood that the U.S. military has faced persistent recruitment difficulties in recent years. Affected by factors such as a tight domestic labor market, declining acceptance of military service among eligible young people, and insufficient appeal of conscription propaganda, several branches had previously failed to meet their annual recruitment targets for several consecutive years. The fact that both branches achieved their recruitment goals is truly rare in recent U.S. military recruitment efforts.
