On September 20, the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Market Supervision Administration issued a notice: Recently, a report circulating online that "a chef at a restaurant in our district used a test kit in the restaurant" has raised public concern. After reviewing on-site surveillance footage, verifying relevant records, and questioning each employee of the restaurant involved, it was confirmed that all employees handling ready-to-eat food held valid health certificates. One employee, who had recently been unwell and concerned about potential liver damage, purchased a test kit online and conducted a self-test in the restaurant, which showed a negative result. To further confirm the employee's health status, the market supervision department required them to undergo a retest at a qualified medical institution, and the results for multiple tests, including HIV, were all negative. However, the restaurant's actions of collecting blood and using testing reagents in the food processing area do not comply with the relevant requirements of the "Food Safety Operation Standards for Catering Services." Currently, the local market supervision bureau has ordered the employee involved to temporarily leave their post and has ordered the restaurant manager to immediately rectify the situation, strengthen employee health management, and strictly prohibit any activities unrelated to food processing in the food processing area.
