Conference Summary

Chongqing, October 23, 2026 – The “2026 DSG Global Supply Chain Innovation Conference Chongqing Station,” hosted by DSG Digital Innovation Era and supported by the Chongqing Private Economy International Cooperation Chamber of Commerce, the Netherlands International Logistics Association, and the Chongqing International Logistics Port Service Association, was successfully held in Chongqing today. The conference, themed “Cost Reduction as the Guiding Principle, Intelligence as the Tool – AI Implementation Driving Value Reconstruction in Manufacturing,” brought together dozens of industry executives and experts from manufacturing, technology companies, logistics associations, and cross-border supply chains to discuss the practical paths and value realization of AI technology in procurement, production, scheduling, risk control, and global supply chain resilience building. This was not a sharing session about “AI concepts,” but a practical dialogue on “how to implement AI, how to save money, and how to improve efficiency.” Each guest shared their most specific experiences and lessons learned in their respective fields. The following is a recap of the core content of this conference. 图片点击可在新窗口打开查看

Opening Remarks

At the opening of the conference, Mr. Jiang Xiaobing, Secretary-General of the Chongqing International Logistics Port Service Association, delivered an opening speech. As a major manufacturing hub in western China, Chongqing boasts well-developed industrial clusters in automobiles, electronics, and equipment manufacturing. The efficiency and resilience of its supply chain directly impact the region's economic competitiveness. Currently, AI technology is transitioning from an "optional" to a "must-have," requiring manufacturing enterprises to rethink their intelligent upgrade paths across procurement, production, and logistics. This also set a pragmatic tone for the entire conference: focusing on practical implementation rather than grand narratives.

Keynote speech

As a long-established manufacturing enterprise, Changhong has a massive annual procurement scale, numerous suppliers, and extremely high data complexity in the procurement process. Mr. Zhu shared several key implementation scenarios of AI procurement at Changhong. He also emphasized that the biggest challenge for large enterprises implementing AI procurement is not the technology itself, but data governance and business process restructuring. "AI isn't something you can just buy and use; you first need to understand the data and streamline the business processes." PART 02 Xia Qianfeng, Kingsoft Office 图片点击可在新窗口打开查看图片点击可在新窗口打开查看图片点击可在新窗口打开查看 "AI Enters Business, Bringing Value to Production" Xia Qianfeng, a solutions expert at Kingsoft Office, shared his insights on "AI Enters Business, Bringing Value to Production." Many companies' understanding of AI is still limited to office assistance functions like "writing documents and making PPTs," but Mr. Xia pointed out that the true value of AI lies in its deep integration into business processes. He shared several AI applications in manufacturing scenarios, using Kingsoft Office's own practices as examples. Mr. Xia's core point is that AI implementation doesn't necessarily have to start with the most complex processes; focusing on the most frequent and time-consuming aspects like document and data processing often yields the fastest results. PART 03 Chen Ya, Supply Chain Risk Control Expert at Hehe Information Qixin Huiyan 图片点击可在新窗口打开查看图片点击可在新窗口打开查看图片点击可在新窗口打开查看 "AI + Data Intelligence: Reconstructing a New Paradigm for Procurement and Supply Chain Business" - Chen Ya, Supply Chain Risk Control Expert from Hehe Information's Qixin Huiyan, shared her insights on "AI + Data Intelligence: Reconstructing a New Paradigm for Procurement and Supply Chain Business." Risk management in the procurement supply chain has always been a pain point for the manufacturing industry. Supplier qualification fraud, hidden related-party transactions, and fluctuations in fulfillment capabilities—if these risks are not detected in time, they can cause huge losses to enterprises. Ms. Chen shared Hehe Information's AI practice model in the field of supply chain risk control, stating that "AI can help enterprises transform risk control from a one-time threshold review into dynamic management throughout the entire lifecycle." PART 04 Guo Qiang, Founder of DSG Digital Innovation Era 图片点击可在新窗口打开查看图片点击可在新窗口打开查看图片点击可在新窗口打开查看 "From Excel to AI: Production Scheduling in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" After the tea break, Guo Qiang, founder of DSG Digital Innovation Era, presented "From Excel to AI: Production Scheduling in the Age of Artificial Intelligence"—one of the most popular presentations among SMEs at the conference. Mr. Guo shared the pitfalls the manufacturing industry has encountered in production scheduling. He said that many manufacturing companies are still stuck in the Excel era, with planners spending a lot of time manually adjusting spreadsheets, which is not only inefficient but also frequently leads to scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and delivery delays. "Dozens of work orders, hundreds of materials, and constraints on a dozen pieces of equipment—it's simply impossible to calculate all of that with just a human brain and Excel." AI production scheduling isn't just about buying software; it requires first clarifying the basic data such as production processes, equipment parameters, and material constraints. Furthermore, data quality determines the effectiveness of AI production scheduling. She presented "A Practical Guide for Chinese Companies: Building a Resilient and Compliant EU Supply Chain." With the implementation of EU regulations such as the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive), the compliance requirements for Chinese companies exporting to Europe are rapidly escalating. Ms. Yan shared several key areas that Chinese companies need to focus on, and stated that companies that prepare for compliance in advance will be more competitive in the European market in the future. PART 06 Q&A 图片点击可在新窗口打开查看 In the final Q&A session, the audience raised many practical questions. From "Small and medium-sized enterprises have limited budgets, where should they start with AI?" to "How to get started with poor data foundation?", from "How to integrate AI production scheduling with existing ERP systems?" to "Where to begin with EU compliance?"—the speakers answered each question in turn.

图片点击可在新窗口打开查看图片点击可在新窗口打开查看图片点击可在新窗口打开查看图片点击可在新窗口打开查看 The manufacturing industry's attitude towards AI has shifted from observation to action. Both large and small enterprises are seeking entry points for AI implementation based on their specific circumstances. Some are focusing on procurement, others on production scheduling, risk control, and document processing—different paths, but the same direction. AI is neither a panacea nor a monster. It's more like a new production tool; whoever uses it effectively first will be able to accelerate cost reduction and efficiency improvement. The DSG Global Supply Chain Innovation Conference Chongqing Station has now successfully concluded. Thank you to all the speakers for their sincere sharing, thank you to the supporting organizations and partners for their strong support, and thank you to every industry colleague who attended.
