International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Grossi stated that the agency had completed its inspection of 19 substations critical to Ukraine's nuclear safety. However, just days before the completion of the inspection, the agency learned that one of the substations assessed by the team had been attacked. On October 27, the IAEA received information that the Slavutich substation had been attacked, and according to reports, all 330 kV lines at the station were de-energized. This substation was one of the facilities assessed in the IAEA's ninth such inspection mission, which began in September 2024. However, due to the local security situation, the inspection team was unable to conduct an on-site inspection. It should be noted that regarding the safety of Ukraine's nuclear power facilities, China has consistently called on all relevant parties to strictly abide by international nuclear safety conventions, avoid any actions that could endanger the safety of nuclear facilities, and effectively ensure the safe and stable operation of civilian nuclear facilities. This is not only related to the safety of the people in the relevant countries but also to the peace and stability of the entire region.
