[National Bureau of Statistics: New Growth Drivers Maintain Rapid Growth] On October 31, 2026, the Service Industry Survey Center of the National Bureau of Statistics and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing released the China Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI). Huo Lihui, Chief Statistician of the Service Industry Survey Center of the National Bureau of Statistics, provided an interpretation. New growth drivers maintained rapid growth. The PMIs for high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing were 51.3% and 50.6% respectively, continuing to be above the critical point. Enterprises in related industries maintained expansion in production and operation, and new quality productivity continued its good development trend. The PMIs for consumer goods and high-energy-consuming industries were 48.8% and 47.3% respectively, down 1.9 and 0.7 percentage points from the previous month, indicating a slight weakening of market activity.
