[China's Manned Lunar Exploration Program Adopts "Two-Launch, Lunar Docking" Scheme] It was learned from the 7th Manned Spaceflight Conference, which opened on October 31, that my country's manned lunar exploration program adopts a "two-launch, lunar docking" scheme, and the various research and development tasks for the lunar landing phase of the program are progressing steadily. Wang Xiang, Deputy Chief Designer of China's Manned Space Program and Chief Designer of the Lunar Exploration Program, explained in an interview that the "two-launch, lunar docking" scheme involves two rockets precisely sending the Lunar Lander and the Mengzhou manned spacecraft into Earth-Moon transfer orbits, followed by rendezvous and docking in lunar orbit. Astronauts will then enter the Lunar Lander from the Mengzhou spacecraft to land and conduct relevant scientific research. To date, the development of major flight products such as the Long March 10 carrier rocket, the Mengzhou spacecraft, and the Lunar Lander is progressing smoothly, and large-scale tests have been completed, including the Mengzhou spacecraft's zero-altitude escape, the Lunar Lander's landing and takeoff, the Long March 10's low-altitude demonstration and verification, and the Mengzhou spacecraft's maximum dynamic pressure escape flight. Following this, the maiden flights of the Long March 10 rocket, the Mengzhou spacecraft, and the lunar lander will be completed as planned. (CCTV News)
