[US Analysis Report Says Iranian Attacks Cause Serious Damage to US Military Bases in the Middle East] A US analysis report released on October 31 stated that, as of the end of August, attacks claimed by Iran or Iranian-backed militias had damaged or destroyed 26 US military bases and facilities housing US equipment in the Middle East. From April 1 to June 30 alone, Iranian attacks damaged or destroyed hundreds of buildings and other facilities within US military bases. The analysis found that Iran initially focused on targeting US aircraft hangars and early warning systems used to detect incoming missiles and drones, later expanding its targets and causing billions of dollars in equipment losses. The continued attacks have altered US military deployments in the Middle East; two officials revealed that the US military has withdrawn many military assets from the Persian Gulf, and the related losses have raised questions about the US military's regional defense capabilities.
