[Israeli Election Witnesses Divided Public Opinion, Government Formation Deadlock May Lead to Another General Election] With the preliminary vote counting completed, the Israeli Central Election Commission released preliminary results for the parliamentary elections. While the official final results are pending formal announcement on November 4th, the general landscape of the 120 seats is largely clear: the right-wing ruling coalition led by incumbent Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to win 53 seats, a significant decrease of 11 seats from the previous election, losing its majority; the opposition coalition led by former IDF Chief of Staff Eisenkot is expected to win 48 seats, a slight increase of 2 seats from the previous election, also failing to secure a majority. Arab parties, not belonging to either of the two major coalitions, made historic progress, increasing their seats from 10 to 19, becoming a crucial minority in parliament. (CCTV News)
