[Ukrainian Air Defense App Suspected of Cyber Attack, Falsely Issues "Nuclear Strike" Alarm] (1) According to the UK's Daily Telegraph, millions of Ukrainians received a false alarm after a suspected cyberattack launched by Moscow, claiming that Russia was about to launch a nuclear strike. The message appeared on the air defense alarm app used throughout Ukraine at 22:48 local time (04:46 Beijing time on the 2nd), warning that Moscow's "Hazel" missiles were about to launch a nuclear strike; the Russian warning read: "Don't worry, 'Hazel' is right above your head! Nuclear alarm has been activated throughout Ukraine." (2) Prior to this, another alarm indicated a threat of radioactive fallout, instructing people to stay indoors, wear gas masks, and take iodine tablets; there were also alarms about chemical attacks and street fighting, requiring residents to go to the nearest shelter and cover their faces with cloth. (3) About 10 minutes after the alarm was issued, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that the app had likely been hacked by Russia.
