[Russian Media: US Reconnaissance Plane Patrols Russian Border for 5.5 Hours] (1) According to a report by Sputnik News Agency citing flight data, a US reconnaissance plane patrolled the Russian border for 5.5 hours. (2) A Bombardier Artemis II aircraft took off from the Mikhail Kogalnicanu Air Base in Romania at approximately 9:47 a.m. Moscow time, flying in a large arc towards the Kaliningrad Oblast in Russia; it flew over the border between the Baltic states and Russia, circled briefly, and then returned to the vicinity of the Kaliningrad Oblast along the original route, again circling the border of the oblast, before turning back to its base in Romania. The flight over the Russian border lasted 5.5 hours, from 11:50 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. Moscow time. (3) The aircraft was modified from a business jet by Leidos Corporation of the United States. The military version is called "Artemis II" and is often used for radar reconnaissance around Kaliningrad Oblast and over the Black Sea along the Crimean Peninsula and other southern regions of Russia.
