[Total Energy Acquires 30% Operating Interest in Two Malaysian Gas Fields; Joint Development Expected to Release Over 6.5 Trillion Cubic Feet of Natural Gas] (1) Total Energy signed an agreement with Petronas Petroleum Exploration Subsidiary (PCSB) of Malaysia, PTTEP of Thailand, and KUFPEC of Kuwait to acquire a 30% operating interest in the Lang Lebah and B14 gas fields in Sarawak, Malaysia. (2) The joint development of the two gas fields is expected to release over 6.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas resources, supplying existing Malaysian LNG plants, with a peak stable production of approximately 10 billion cubic meters per year. (3) Upon completion of the transaction, Total Energy will hold a 30% operating interest in the two gas fields, PTTEP will hold 25%, KUFPEC will hold 25%, and PCSB will hold 20%; the financial terms of this transaction were not disclosed.
