[Sweden's October Manufacturing PMI Rises to 60.5, Highest Level Since 2022] ⑴ Sweden's October 2026 Swedbank Manufacturing PMI rose to 60.5 from a revised 58.5 in September, the highest level since January 2022. ⑵ The index has been above the long-term average of 54.3 for the 16th consecutive month, mainly supported by strong production growth, with the production sub-index rising from 60.8 to 66.1. ⑶ The employment sub-index rose from 57.0 to 60.1, inventory levels fell from 53.6 to 51.9, and delivery times shortened from 62.6 to 62. ⑷ In terms of prices, the raw materials and input price index rose to 82.6 from 78.3 in September, the highest since May 2022, indicating continued cost pressures. ⑸ Analyst Jörgen Kennemar stated that rising cost pressures are challenging the profit margins of industrial companies and increasing the risk of costs being passed on to producers and consumers. (6) He added that this is an issue the Swedish central bank needs to consider before its next monetary policy decision.
