[Turkey's October Manufacturing PMI Falls to 47.3, Fastest Contraction in Four Months] ⑴ The Istanbul Chamber of Industry's Turkey Manufacturing PMI for October 2026 fell slightly to 47.3 from 47.9 in September. ⑵ This marks the 31st consecutive month of contraction and the most significant decline since June. ⑶ Severe market conditions led to a further slowdown in output and new orders. ⑷ Employment continued to decline due to reduced workloads and employee resignations, but the pace of layoffs was moderate, the slowest since June. ⑸ On the price front, input costs rose due to rising oil prices, increased raw material costs, and unfavorable exchange rate movements. ⑹ Inflation slowed somewhat from September but remains high and is growing faster than the year-to-date average. Similarly, output prices rose significantly again. ⑺ Supplier performance has deteriorated month by month over the past year, but recent lead times have been moderate.
