[Poland's October Manufacturing PMI Rises to 50, Returning to Expansion Territory] ⑴ Poland's S&P Global Manufacturing PMI rose to 50 in October 2026 from 49 in September, returning to the expansion threshold after 17 consecutive months of contraction, indicating a possible turning point in the sector's prolonged slump. ⑵ The improvement was supported by a recovery in employment and export orders, while output remained largely stable, with the decline in new orders slowing to its weakest level since October 2025. ⑶ Employment grew for the second time in 18 months, and manufacturers increased purchases for the first time in five months. ⑷ However, input price inflation accelerated to its highest level since June, influenced by rising raw material, transportation, and energy costs, as well as geopolitical tensions. ⑸ Factory gate prices continued to rise, but at a slightly slower pace. ⑹ Business confidence remained positive, supported by stronger orders, new customers, and expectations of improved market conditions, but sentiment had declined somewhat compared to September.
