[Kazakhstan's October Inflation Rate Drops to 9.2%, a 21-Month Low] ⑴ Kazakhstan's annualized inflation rate slowed to 9.2% in October 2026 from 9.3% in September, the lowest level since January 2025. ⑵ The slowdown was mainly driven by slower price increases in food and non-food categories. ⑶ Food inflation fell to 7.6% from 8.5% in September, reflecting a slowdown in meat and poultry price increases from 10.2% to 8.6%, and a decrease in sausage and meat product prices from 13.2% to 11.2%. ⑷ Similarly, non-food inflation fell to 10.4% from 11.0%, driven by a slowdown in gasoline price increases from 10.1% to 8.6% and a decrease in personal care product prices from 11.9% to 11.3%. ⑸ In contrast, inflation in paid services accelerated to 10.3% from 8.9%, partially offsetting the slowdown in overall consumer price increases, which was mainly driven by an 11.2% increase in housing and utility costs, compared to a 6.3% increase in the previous month. (6) On a month-on-month basis, the consumer price index fell to 0.5% in October from 0.6% in the previous month, marking the weakest monthly increase since October 2025.
