[Trump to Deliver Closing Address Before Midterm Elections] ⑴ According to White House officials, US President Trump will deliver his closing address before the midterm elections on Monday at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C. ⑵ This speech comes as Republicans make their final presentations to voters before the election, the outcome of which will determine control of Congress. ⑶ Trump is scheduled to deliver his "closing address before the midterm elections" at 2 p.m. Eastern Time, highlighting his administration's and Congressional Republicans' achievements, and discussing the government's work in Washington and efforts to "restore our great capital." ⑷ The Reflecting Pool has been a key focus of Trump's efforts to renovate the capital's landmark, but the project has been controversial due to maintenance errors and vandalism allegations. ⑸ Trump criticized his Justice Department for dropping vandalism charges against former Olympic canoeist David Hearn, a case that was later permanently dropped after prosecutors admitted the damage was caused by improper installation. ⑹ Markets are watching to see if Trump will use this speech to make a broader appeal to voters or focus on his administration's record before the election.
