[Poll: Democratic Lead Narrows Over Republicans in Midterm Elections] A poll shows that, disregarding specific candidates, in the US midterm elections held on March 3, 46% of voters supported the Democratic Party, while 38% supported the Republican Party. The Democrats led by 8 percentage points, a narrowing of their lead from 11 percentage points a week earlier. Approximately 32% of respondents approved of Trump's performance in the White House, unchanged from a week ago, but slightly higher than the record low of 31% two weeks ago. About 78% of respondents considered rising living costs a "very important" or "most important" issue when voting. About 49% of Democratic voters felt "very enthusiastic" about voting this year, compared to only 33% of Republican voters. Strategists from both parties believe the Democrats have the best chance of winning the House of Representatives and a certain opportunity to overturn the results in the Senate. (Xinhua)
