[US Midterm Election Results to be Released Today] Voting began on November 3rd, local time, in the US midterm elections. This year, Republicans and Democrats will compete for all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate. Voters will also elect governors in 36 states, as well as state legislators and other local officials. A record-breaking 50 million people have already voted early across the country. Most polling stations that opened on November 3rd typically open early in the morning and close that evening. States will then conduct final checks and verifications of all ballots, including mail-in ballots, overseas ballots, and provisional ballots. Preliminary results are usually released starting on the evening of November 3rd, local time. However, due to the large volume of vote counting in some swing states, final results may take several days or even weeks to be released. (CCTV International News)
