[Spain's Private Sector Activity Continues to Grow in October, Manufacturing PMI Rises to 52.2] ⑴ The S&P Global Spain Composite PMI dipped slightly to 56.2 in October from 56.8 in September, indicating a strong sixth consecutive month of growth in private sector activity. ⑵ The service sector remained the main driver of expansion, while manufacturing growth accelerated, with its PMI rising to 52.2 from 51.0, the highest since August 2025. ⑶ New orders increased in both sectors, and employment in the service sector continued to rise. However, growth in new business in the service sector slowed to a five-month low, partly reflecting weakening export demand. ⑷ Meanwhile, rising energy, fuel, and transportation costs pushed input price inflation faster, with manufacturing firms reporting the fastest cost increase since May. ⑸ Manufacturing business confidence also weakened, while optimism among service sector firms strengthened.
