[Joint Briefing on the First China-Canada Energy Ministerial Dialogue] To implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and promote exchanges and cooperation in the energy sector, Wang Hongzhi, Director of the National Energy Administration of China, and Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Canada, jointly held the first China-Canada Energy Ministerial Dialogue via video conference on November 4 (November 3, Ottawa time). According to the talks, both sides agreed to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in traditional energy, renewable energy, civilian nuclear energy, and uranium resources. Both sides encouraged energy companies from both countries to strengthen communication and exchanges, leverage their respective advantages, and actively explore opportunities for energy trade, technology exchange, investment, and project cooperation to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. China thanked Canada for its positive support for energy cooperation during the 2026 APEC China Year. Both sides agreed to continue strengthening communication and coordination on energy issues within a multilateral framework, making positive contributions to global energy security and energy transition.
