[UAE Denies Plans to Build Third Oil Pipeline Bypassing Strait of Hormuz] According to sources familiar with the matter, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is considering building a third oil export pipeline to transport crude oil outside the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to significantly reduce the country's dependence on this shipping route. The sources indicated that Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is assessing the feasibility of building a new pipeline extending from the UAE's west coast to the port of Fujairah in the east. This pipeline could be open to third parties and would complement existing pipelines and another pipeline scheduled to begin operation next year, thereby enhancing the UAE's ability to supply crude oil to customers should shipping through the Strait of Hormuz be disrupted in the future. Other sources indicated that ADNOC has already briefed some Asian customers on the pipeline plan. However, the details are not yet finalized, and several aspects, including the pipeline route, are still subject to change. An ADNOC spokesperson stated, "We have informed Bloomberg that the report is untrue and purely speculative."
