[OPEC: Soaring Crude Oil Transportation and Insurance Costs Exacerbate Global Inflationary Pressures] OPEC Secretary General Haitham Guess stated on November 4th that international energy transportation and insurance costs have risen sharply since 2026, now exceeding one-third of the value of crude oil itself. The increase in transportation and risk costs is being transmitted along the oil and energy supply chain, increasing the economic burden on oil-producing and consuming countries and further exacerbating global inflationary pressures.
