U.S. Vice President Vance posted on social media on November 4th, attributing the Republican Party's loss in the midterm elections to the war against Iran. Vance stated, "The fundamental reason we lost the election is this war. The president himself has acknowledged this." In his post, Vance mentioned that Republican voter turnout was not low, "but the core issue isn't voter turnout. The real problem is: many voters who voted for Trump and me in 2024 voted for the Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections." Vance also revealed that a prominent pollster asked these "defected" voters how to win them back to the Republican Party. The top four demands in the feedback were: ending the war, focusing on the cost of living and inflation, adhering to the "America First" principle, and adjusting relations with Israel.
