【Yardeni: US Bond Yields May Remain at 5% for a Long Time, 10-Year US Treasuries Are Attractive】 (1) Ed Yardeni, president of Yardeni Research, said that if asked what level bond yields would be at the end of this year, the end of next year, and in the foreseeable future, he would say 5%. (2) He believes that interest rates have returned to normal levels and this situation will continue for a longer period of time; 5% is a very normal interest rate level and is consistent with a well-performing economy, and he said that 5% is very attractive. (3) He said that to buy 10-year US Treasuries at a 5% level, one must be relatively optimistic that productivity will drive inflation down, and he believes that this will indeed happen. (4) He expects inflation to be around 2%-2.5% over the next ten years; at the same time, a real return of 2.5% would be quite good in the bond market.
