[SASAC: Accelerate the Cultivation and Expansion of Emerging and Future Industries, Using Technological Strength to Drive Industrial and Economic Strength] On November 4th, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council convened a video conference for state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to convey and study the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Building upon previous learning, the conference further arranged and deployed the work of studying, publicizing, and implementing the spirit of the session. The meeting emphasized the need to remain focused on goals and tasks, and to solidly carry out all key tasks in the near future. It stressed the importance of actively promoting the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan, strengthening effective investment, increasing investment in basic research, accelerating the cultivation and expansion of emerging and future industries, and building a modern industrial system to drive industrial and economic strength through technological advancement. The meeting also called for vigorously promoting the implementation of key reform tasks, improving relevant systems and mechanisms, establishing a comprehensive regulatory system, addressing deep-seated problems in enterprise systems and mechanisms at their source, and consolidating the foundation for high-quality enterprise development.
