[Russia's October Services PMI Falls to 50.1, Nearing Expansion Threshold] ⑴ The S&P Global Russia Services PMI Business Activity Index fell to 50.1 in October from 51.3 in September, the lowest level since April. ⑵ Weakening demand led to the first decline in new orders in three months, with fewer customers and budget pressures. ⑶ Employment resumed growth, ending eight consecutive months of contraction, but hiring remained weak and below the historical average. ⑷ Backlogs continued to decline, decreasing in six of the past seven months. ⑸ On the price front, input cost inflation accelerated for the first time in three months, with expenses rising sharply, but the rate of increase remained below the long-term trend. Businesses passed on higher costs to customers, with sales prices rising at the fastest pace in eight months. ⑹ Business confidence weakened for the second consecutive month due to continued economic uncertainty, falling below the 2026 average and historical trend.
