[Italian Retail Sales Rise Only 0.1% in September] Italian retail sales rose only 0.1% month-on-month in September, following a 0.3% increase in August, falling short of market expectations of a 0.2% increase. Food sales were flat, compared to a 0.7% increase in August; non-food sales rose 0.3%, unchanged from the previous month. Year-on-year, retail sales grew 1.6%, accelerating from the 0.5% increase in the previous month. In the third quarter of 2026, retail sales declined 0.3% quarter-on-quarter, while sales volume declined 0.5% quarter-on-quarter.
