[Italian 10-year bond yield falls to three-month low] ⑴ The yield on Italian 10-year bonds fell to 3.38%, the lowest level since November 12. ⑵ Investors await US Consumer Price Index data to be released later today to further assess the Federal Reserve's policy path. ⑶ This move followed stronger-than-expected US jobs data released on Wednesday, cooling market expectations for a near-term Fed rate cut. ⑷ In Europe, investors are assessing signs that the European Central Bank (ECB) is generally maintaining a dovish stance on the recent appreciation of the euro. ⑸ The market is also considering reports that François Villeroy de Gallo, the Bank of France governor considered a dovish policymaker, may step down early. ⑹ ECB President Christine Lagarde stated last week that the inflation outlook remains favorable and downplayed concerns about a stronger euro. ⑺ The money market currently estimates only a 30% chance of an ECB rate cut before December.
