The Paris prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into Nestlé, Danone, Lactalis, and two other companies for distributing potentially contaminated infant formula. The investigation could involve charges of "deceiving people with products that endanger human health," which carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison and a fine of €3.75 million (nearly S$5.62 million). The investigation, led by the prosecutor's office's public health department, aims to determine whether the companies are responsible for endangering lives due to violations of safety regulations, failure to recall contaminated products, and other misconduct.
