[Rafah Crossing Restricted, Over 20,000 Sick and Wounded People in Gaza Await Medical Treatment] The Gaza Strip's health department issued a statement on February 15th, expressing serious concern and dissatisfaction with the "partial and restricted" operation of the Rafah crossing in southern Gaza. The statement noted that although the crossing partially resumed operations on February 2nd, the number of people allowed to pass through is extremely limited, failing to alleviate Gaza's escalating humanitarian and medical crisis. According to the health department, the number of sick and wounded people awaiting treatment in Gaza has exceeded 20,000. This includes a large number of patients with cancer, heart disease, kidney failure, and seriously injured individuals urgently requiring complex surgeries.
