According to a report by Izvestia citing Duma lawmakers, the Russian State Duma delegation to the United States for negotiations is likely to consist of representatives from four political parties, representing multiple Duma committees, primarily the International Affairs Committee. Alexei Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma's International Affairs Committee, stated that the delegation members are mainly from that committee, but also include representatives from other committees. He added, "The largest number of representatives will be from United Russia. However, on international issues, there are no disagreements among the various parties within the Duma regarding goals and tasks. All our diplomatic activities are decided by the President." The report noted that the main topic of the negotiations "is likely to be creating political conditions for further contact in the economic, sports, cultural, and other fields."
