[Singapore's February Exports May Decline Due to Lunar New Year Holiday, March Expected to Rebound] OCBC Bank Chief Economist Selena Ling stated that Singapore's non-oil domestic exports may have declined in February due to the Lunar New Year holiday, but a rebound is expected in March. In an email, she pointed out that the widespread global application of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and high-performance computing chips continues to boost short-term demand for electronic products, especially semiconductors. Non-electronic products such as pharmaceuticals and gold are also expected to continue to receive support, but pharmaceuticals remain susceptible to cyclical changes in global demand, while gold is more sensitive to market sentiment fluctuations. Ling added that overall regional demand remains resilient.
