[Tighter Liquidity on Presidents' Day Leads to Slight Dollar Gain, Volatility Limited] Revacy Fund CEO Zahir Anwari noted in a report that the dollar rose slightly with limited volatility due to tighter liquidity on Presidents' Day. However, he also stated that weaker-than-expected US inflation data on Friday boosted market expectations for further rate cuts later this year, posing a risk of further dollar decline. Looking ahead, market focus will shift to Wednesday's Federal Reserve meeting minutes and Friday's Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation data and fourth-quarter economic growth figures. Anwari indicated that if the PCE data confirms a general slowdown in inflation, the dollar and US Treasury yields could fall. The Dollar Index (DXY) rose 0.2% to 97.079.
