They stated, "While total new bond issuance is projected to reach $1.8 trillion in 2026, a record high for annual issuance, it is important to consider the proportion of issuance relative to the size of the bond market." The analysts pointed out that the projected $1.8 trillion in issuance represents only 12% of total outstanding corporate debt, a proportion "roughly in line with the annual issuance share of outstanding debt from 2012 to 2017."
