According to Magic Atom, at the Yibin branch venue of the Spring Festival Gala, hundreds of Magic Atom quadruped robots appeared as "special actors," portraying giant pandas. These robotic pandas could naturally tilt and turn their heads. To achieve this effect, Magic Atom introduced a three-degree-of-freedom head drive system into the robot's body to establish mechanical coupling between its body, the panda's outer covering, and the motor module. Simultaneously, the control system was also rebuilt, allowing the robotic panda's head rotation to coordinate with its gait and formation rhythm. Meanwhile, hundreds of robots needed to receive high-frequency control commands within the same time window. To avoid latency buildup or dropped frames, Magic Atom broke down the overall movement into standardized poses and time sequences, using unified encoding for distribution and single-machine decoding for execution, achieving millisecond-level synchronization in high-density scheduling scenarios.
