[Hungary and Slovakia Blame Ukraine for Oil Supply Disruption] Hungary and Slovakia have expressed their dissatisfaction with the recent disruption of Russian oil shipments via Ukraine, blaming Ukraine for the situation. The Hungarian Foreign Minister stated on the 16th that Hungary and Slovakia have requested Croatia to allow Russian oil imported by sea to transit through their territory. Russian oil shipments to Europe via the Ukrainian section of the "Friendship" pipeline have been suspended since January 27th. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated last week that the disruption was caused by a Russian attack on pipeline facilities within Ukraine. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Szebiga posted a photo on the social media platform X showing firefighters and what he called the "Friendship" pipeline infrastructure burning, criticizing Hungary for remaining silent on the matter despite its pro-Russian stance.
