[Cold Wave Hits Black Sea Region, Will the Global Wheat Market "Change"?] ⑴ The latest global wheat growth report shows that major producing regions are facing different weather challenges. In the Black Sea region, as winter wheat enters dormancy, the recent cold air may have caused some damage to the crop, and the market is beginning to worry about the future yield prospects. ⑵ In contrast, most parts of Europe have recently received favorable rainfall, providing good conditions for the growth of local winter wheat. Meanwhile, winter wheat in the US Plains is currently dormant and in generally good condition, but the dry and warm weather this week may not be conducive to crop growth. ⑶ In central China, winter wheat crops are also in dormancy and in relatively good condition overall. However, the region needs more rainfall in the future to ensure the subsequent greening and growth of the crop. ⑷ Weather forecasts for the main producing areas in the US Midwest indicate significant temperature fluctuations in the coming week. From Friday to next Tuesday, temperatures in the western region will remain above average, while temperatures in the eastern region will gradually shift from near normal to significantly above average. Scattered showers are expected in this region over the next 6 to 10 days. Weather changes will be a key factor in the market's assessment of wheat yield potential.
