The UK's Reform Party, leading in the polls, has announced its "shadow cabinet." Party leader Nigel Farage stated that if they win the next general election, he will appoint former Conservative Party figure Robert Jenrick as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Deputy leader Richard Tice will be responsible for a package of business, trade, and energy matters, while policy director Zia Yusuf will handle home affairs, including immigration. Immigration has boosted the Reform Party's support. The party has been at the top of national polls since April last year. Farage has vowed to professionalize the Reform Party and prepare it for governance, and Tuesday's announcement is a key step in this process. However, the Reform Party only has 5 seats out of 650 in the House of Commons in 2024, limiting Farage's options in building a leadership team capable of effectively speaking in Parliament.
