[Analysts Focus on USDA Planting Acreage Forecast] The USDA's 102nd Annual Agricultural Outlook Forum is scheduled to open tomorrow in Arlington, Virginia, and will for the first time forecast the acreage of corn and soybeans that farmers expect to plant this spring. Analysts are making predictions on what the USDA might release, generally expecting farmers to increase soybean acreage while reducing corn acreage compared to last spring. Given last year's record-breaking corn harvest, this year's corn acreage is still expected to be historically high—Agricultural lending firm CoBank predicts approximately 94 million acres, which, according to the USDA, would still make it one of the five largest harvests on record. Grain futures on the Chicago Board of Trade rose in pre-market trading.
